All Truckmounts and Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines share three components:
A Water Pressurization System to allow transport of the cleaning solution from a storage tank in the Truckmount to the solution distribution jets on the Truckmounts wand just above the carpet. There are two considerations when evaluating the water pressurization system of Truckmounts: FLOW; The wand of a Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machine typically flows about 2.2 gallons per minute through the jets at a PRESSURE of 500 pounds per square inch. Truckmounts will usually flow about 3.5 gpm max. Truckmount pumps are usually regulated to a maximum pressure of 1200 psi to protect the Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines components. Some Truckmounts and Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines are equipped with high pressure washing circuits that will provide up to 4000 psi, but it is generally accepted as a horribly bad idea to expose the expensive components of Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines to such extreme high pressures. You can buy a much better pressure washer for around $1,500.00. These machines will not only dramatically out perform truckmounts for this job, they will also save you from exposing the much more expensive components of Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines to unnecessary wear and tear. Vacuum System: for Truckmounts and Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines to extract the soils and dirt loosened up by the pressure and cleaning solution, then transport this mixture back to a recovery tank in the Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machine. Rather than a fan type vacuum pump, Truckmounts and Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines use what is called a positive displacement "Blower". Again, when we talk about vacuum from Truckmounts and Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines, we are still talking about pressure & flow. Most Truckmount vac blowers operate at a negative pressure or LIFT of 14" with 2 notable exceptions. The BLUELINE VORTEX "BIG TRUCK" Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines operate at up to 18" of "Lift" & The WHITE MAGIC PRO 1200HV Direct Drive Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines operate at 20" of "Lift". Slide In Truckmounts and Direct Drive Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines typically FLOW between 160 and 850 cubic feet per minute of air volume per minute, depending on the size and efficiency of the Truckmounts blower. Truckmounts and Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines will also have a Heat Exchanger Slide In Truckmounts and Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines have an onboard engine, and a heat exchanger for the hot water supply. The Truckmount engine drives the vacuum system and the water pressurization system. The heat is provided by the Truckmounts vacuum blower and the Truckmounts engine exhaust.
to raise the temperature of the
solution. This raises the temperature of the solution from room
temperature to a higher temperature, increasing its cleaning
effectiveness. Truckmount systems can generate very high temperatures, 190-240° F.
Disadvantages of Slide In Truckmounts and Truckmount Carpet Cleaning Machines are, higher initial machine cost, more maintenance than a Direct Drive Trucmount is required due to self contained Truckmount engine.
